Butter Chicken in Cashewnut gravy


  • Onion – 4 or 5
  • Cashew – 1/4 cup (one handful)
  • Butter – 50 gm
  • Chicken – 1 kg
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala – 1/4 tsp
  • Chilly powder – 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt,Oil


Soak cashew for 1/2 an hour. Saute onion in oil till golden brown. Blend together to a smooth paste.
Add butter to a wok pan, add turmeric and add chicken pieces to it. Saute it for about 5 min.
Add ginger and garlic chopped, mix well.
Add garam masala, chilly powder & salt and mix chicken well until coated. Cook for another 5 min.
Add the cashew-onion paste to the chicken. Adjust salt and cook until chicken is done.
Add coriander leaves. Garnish with butter.
