Prawn Coconut Balls



  • Prawns small – 500 gm (cooked with salt and turmeric powder)
  • Onion chopped – 2
  • Green chilly chopped – 2
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt, Oil – as required
  • Coconut shredded for garnishing

For ball dough

  • Rice powder – 2 cup
  • Water – 2 cup
  • Salt


Add oil in a pan. Saute onion, green chilly till the raw smell goes off. Add ginger garlic paste, chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt. Saute well.

Add prawns, add 2 tbsp water and mix well. Remove from heat when gravy thickens.

For making balls – Boil water with salt. Pour the boiled water to the rice flour, mix well to a soft dough.

Make lemon sized balls, flatten it with hand, fill the prawns filling inside and close the balls. Roll the balls with coconut if you are a coconut lover.

Steam the balls in a steamer for 20-25 minutes. Serve with hot Tea or Coffee.
