Bature (Indian Fried Bread)

Ingredients

  • All purpose flour – 2 cups
  • Wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Yoghurt – 1 cup (more or less as per consistency)
  • Yeast – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil for frying

Method

Combine yeast and milk and keep aside for 1/2 an hour.
Sieve and combine both flours.
Add milk mixture and yoghurt. (you can increase or decrease the amount of yoghurt as per the kneading consistency)
Knead for 15-20 minutes into a smooth ball.
Cover with a damp cloth and keep aside for 2 hours.
Make medium sized balls out of the dough, roll them into round shape.
Deep fry in hot oil.
